Donald "Smitty" H. Smith

     Donald H. “Smitty” Smith, 70, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at his home in Port Royal.

     Born Nov. 22, 1950, in Harrisburg, he is a son of Orvieda May (Latchford) Smith of Mifflintown and the late Donald Ray Smith.

     In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Connie M. (Kramer) Smith, whom he married Oct. 9, 1970, one daughter, Maddy Bishop of Mifflin, one granddaughter, Sierra Bishop, one grandson, Christopher Walters, one great-grandson, Bryson Raine Scott, siblings, Kathy Hockenberry and husband, Bob, Wendy Smith and companion, Randy Price, Wes Smith and companion, Martha Wilson, Terry Smith and wife, Juniata, and Adam Smith and companion, Diane Harren, as well as nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

     He was also preceded in death by one sister, Diane Berrier, his grandparents, Harvey and Elva Latchford and James and Elsie Smith, and a brother-in-law, Dave Forry.

     Smitty was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and worked at ACPI in Thompsontown.

     He helped with functions held at the Port Royal Community Building and was an active member of the Juniata County Sportsmens Association.

     He enjoyed constructing scale models of older vehicles and he loved spending time with his family, his great-grandson, his friends, and his faithful dog, Fozzie.

     The family will have a memorial service which will be announced when the planning is complete.
