Denton D. “Fuz” Ritzman, 89, of McAlisterville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023, in the emergency room of Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born July 27, 1934, in McAlisterville, he was a son of the late D. Carl and Marian (Adams) Ritzman. His wife, Shirley (Kauffman) Ritzman, whom he married April 3, 1958, passed away on March 31, 2019.
He is survived by three children, Linda M. Robinson Cuffaro and husband, Frank, Michael L. Robinson and wife, Christine, and Anthony S. Ritzman and wife, Karen, all of McAlisterville, five siblings, David Ritzman, Earl Ritzman and wife, Cindy, Jane Cook, Samuel Ritzman and wife, Sharon, and Susan Mitchell, two sisters-in-law, Donna Ritzman and Mary Ritzman, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Ritzman and Joseph Ritzman, and one sister-in-law, Cornelia Ritzman.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
He was a truck driver, retiring from Pannebaker cabinets.
He was a member of Free Spring Church of the Brethren.
He enjoyed working with wood and watching football as well as other sports. He was an avid NY Giants fan. He loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
His funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 21, 2023, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Interment will be in Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville, where full military honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
There will be a viewing from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services Monday at the funeral home.
