David "Jack" Paul Bratton, Jr.

January 23, 1935 ~ January 8, 2023 (age 87) 87 Years Old


     David “Jack” Paul Bratton, Jr. 87 of Edinburg passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023, in Winchester.

     Born January 23, 1935, in Mifflintown, PA, he was the son of the late David, Sr. and Evelyn Clark Bratton.

     David is survived by his wife, Shirley; two sons, Mark Bratton and his wife, Kellie, and David A. Bratton; two daughters, Anne Marie Eaton, and Lydia J. Bratton; five grandchildren, Michael, Julie, Bethany Humbertson and her husband Garrett, David, and Leah; two great grandchildren, Parker, and Maddie; and two brothers, Roger, and Steve Bratton.

     He was preceded in death by two sisters, Pat Clipper, and Josie Ott.

     He served in the Army as an MP during the Korean Conflict.

     He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid reader and history buff.

     There will be a visitation from 1 to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. on Friday, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Nook, with Pastor Mindy Petrovcic officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.

     Local arrangements are in the care of Dellinger Funeral Homes, Woodstock, VA and Guss Funeral Home in Mifflintown, PA.
