Daniel George Brackbill, 55, of Port Royal, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born July 10, 1968 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late George and Zenda (Shearer) Brackbill.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Tammy S. (Wert) Brackbill whom he married Aug. 14, 2001, one daughter, Tirzah L. Yeshulas and husband, Christopher, of Leesport, and his mother-in-law, Cindy Wert of Mifflintown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Minerva Shearer, who he was very close to.
He graduated from Juniata High School in 1986 and proudly served his country as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy for 12 years.
He was self-employed doing various jobs for many years, but his most recent job was in maintenance at Little Buffalo State Park.
He was a life member of Mifflintown VFW.
He enjoyed woodworking and growing different kinds of corn in his garden which he then milled and baked into bread.
All of his services will be on Saturday, Oct. 21, at Messiah Lutheran Church, corner of Washington Ave. and South Third St., Mifflintown, with the viewing beginning at 12:30 p.m., and Military Honors conducted by the Juniata County Veterans Council at 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow the military honors at the church with Rev. Samuel J. Leister, officiating. Interment at East Waterford Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church for the AED Fund, 3 S. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.
