Connie G. (Sheriff) Earnest

     Connie G. Earnest, 66, of Mifflin, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at Lewistown Hospital.

     Born Nov. 15, 1953, near Mifflintown, she was a daughter of the late Charles D. and Stella (Walton) Sheriff.

     She is survived by her husband, Daniel R. Earnest, whom she married Sept. 1, 1979, one daughter, Denise Peterson and husband, Bryan, of Port Royal, one grandson, Connor Peterson, and three siblings, Joan “Sue” Zeiders and husband, Gary, of Mifflintown, Wayne “Joe” Sheriff of Lewistown, and Sandra Harris of Mifflin.

     She was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Peck.

     Connie graduated from Juniata High School in 1973 and worked as a seamstress.

     She was a life member of Mifflin Fire Co. and enjoyed making crafts. She loved her family. Her pride and joy was her grandson, Connor, and she attended as many of the 4-H shows as she could when he showed his animals.

     Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6 at the Guss Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Kerlin officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Nook.

     There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
