Charles Dale ‘Pete’ Swartz, 90, of Mifflintown, passed away Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born July 1, 1931, in Fermanagh Township, he is the son of the late Charles and Hazel (Myers) Swartz.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Houtz Swartz, whom he married Oct. 18, 1952, and with whom he enjoyed 69 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carol Wolff and husband Thomas, Souderton, PA, and Nancy Saner and husband David, Thompsontown, PA, as well as four grandchildren.
Pete graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1949. He worked as a foreman for John E. Groninger and was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
He served in the Korean War.
His service will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown with Vicar Sam Leister, officiating. Interment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery.
