Catherine "Cathy" S. (Hockenbrock) Clarke

     Catherine S. “Cathy” Clarke, 72, of Mifflintown, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2022, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

     Born Sept. 20, 1950 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Sarah (Blystone) Hockenbrock.

     She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Zorn and husband, Gregory, of Williamsville, NY, two grandchildren, Aiden and Audrey Zorn, one sister, Sue Eargle and husband, Bob, of Thompsontown, one brother, Robert Hockenbrock and wife, Lois, of Richfield, and her former husband, Dennis Maize of Landisburg.

     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Benjamin Clarke on Nov. 14, 2021 and two sisters, AnnaMae Horwhat and Jeanne Hockenbrock.

     Cathy graduated from East Juniata High School in 1968. She began working as a seamstress in local dress factories until she was employed as a file clerk for USF&G Insurance where she advanced to underwriting clerk. She recently retired from PMA Co. where she was an underwriting assistant.

    She was a member and former president of Insurance Professionals Group, Harrisburg and a member of Juniata County BPW.

     She read her devotions daily and enjoyed baking, especially at holidays, sewing, and knitting. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren.

     Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Rev. William Esborn officiating. Interment will be in East Salem Cemetery.

     There will be a viewing from noon until the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home.

     In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Cathy may be made to the Friends of the Juniata County Library, 498 Jefferson St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.
