Carolyn "Carrie" Fike Obituary

     Carolyn E. “Granny” “Carrie” Fike, 81, of Mifflintown, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at her home in Licking Creek Valley, surrounded by her loving family.

     Born March 17, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Clarence “Dutch” and Eva (McClenahan) Aumiller. Her husband, Marlin K. “Buck” “Curly” Fike, whom she married Jan. 14, 1956, died Feb. 4, 1988.

     She is survived by three children, Walter C. “Buck” Fike and companion, Dale Ernest, Connie D. Reichard and husband, Lonny, and Ronnie L. Fike and wife, Mary Jane, all of Mifflintown, one brother, Ronald Aumiller of Burnham, one sister, Shirley Rook and husband, Don, of Garden View, Reedsville, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and other extended family.

     In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three children, M. Kenneth Fike Jr., Timothy Scott Fike, and Karlena K. Hatter and one sister, Phyllis Knepp.

     Carrie was a cook at the Juniata County Jail for 26 years.

     She was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, the ELCW, the Pollyanna Class at Maple Sunday School, and Teamsters Union 776.

     Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy and she attended as many of their activities as she could. She loved her Lord and Savior and read her Bible daily. She enjoyed rocking on her front porch and collected pencil sharpeners, Elvis memorabilia, presidential memorabilia, especially items about the Kennedy family, and she loved shamrocks.

     Her graveside service and interment in St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley with Pastor Chris Mathiason officiating, will be private. A memorial service will be held at a future time.

     In lieu of flowers, those who desire are asked to make a memorial contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105-1942 or to the Juniata County Food Pantry, PO Box 44, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
