Bruce S. Dressler

    Bruce S. Dressler, 70, of Mifflintown, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his family.

     Born Dec. 5, 1949 in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Samuel N. and Evelyn M. (Kerstetter) Dressler. His wife, Julia A. (Fry) Dressler, whom he married March 10, 1996, passed away on April 2, 2016.

     He is survived by two children, Susan L. Dressler and fiancé, Brian Bender, of Mifflintown and Michael A. Dressler and wife, Tracy, of Northumberland, two step-sons, Steve Schlegel of Lewistown and Andy Schlegel of Palm Coast, Fla. one brother, Russell Dressler and wife, Pat, of McAlisterville, three grandchildren, Shanoa Dressler, Alisha Dressler, and Michael Dressler Jr., three step-grandchildren, Thomas Propst, Jeremy Ahearn and Brittany Stetler, four great-grandchildren, Arora Lee, Tailor Thorton, Ava Abney, Nova Abney and one due in July, and seven step-great-grandchildren.

     He graduated from East Juniata High School in 1967.

     He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the National Guard.

     He worked at the Mechanicsburg Navy Depot.

     Bruce was a member of the Bunkertown Brethren Church, the McAlisterville Lions Club and was a Boy Scout leader for a McAlisterville troop.

     He enjoyed traveling, Nascar races, drag races and listening to news and talk radio.

     His graveside service and interment in Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown, will be private with Pastor Wes Stahl officiating. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
