Bonnie J. Benner, 75, of Mifflintown, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
She was born June 11, 1946 in East Waterford.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert L. “Bob” Benner, Sr., whom she married May 26, 1963, two sons, Robert L. “Bobby” Benner, Jr. of Mifflintown and Eric H. Benner and wife, Betty of Lewistown, four grandchildren, Robby, Chris, Ashley and Brandon, two great-grandchildren, Raine and Lydia, two sisters, Sis McLaughlin and Judy Nace, and one brother, Don Gussler.
She was preceded in death by her father, Oliver Hockenberry, her mother, Stella Hockenberry Leach, her step-father, Harry Leach, one daughter-in-law, Lisa Benner, and two brothers, Bob Hockenberry and Bill Hockenberry.
Bonnie was a homemaker and cleaned houses for others.
She was a member of AARP and formerly belonged to the Mifflin Fire Co. Auxiliary.
She enjoyed fishing and hunting with her husband and loved horses. She was an artist, using oil paints to paint portraits.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third Street, Mifflintown, with Rev. Richard Adams officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley.
There will be a viewing from 9 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday at the funeral home.
