Betty Jean “BJ” Doray, 64, of Mifflintown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022 in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital.
Born July 10, 1958 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Robert “Bob” and Betty (Walters) Watts.
She is survived by her husband, P. David Doray whom she married Oct. 3, 1992, one son, Jason Saylor of Johnstown, one daughter, Kerri A. Lentz and husband, Derek, of Mifflintown, two sisters, Kathie Eichenberger and husband, Bill, of Port Royal and Robin Smith and husband, Kent, of Reedsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Patty Varner and an infant brother.
BJ worked at Ford Motor Credit, at Jack’s Drive-In and retired from the Juniata County Assistance Office.
She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed cooking, decorating her home, gardening, camping, traveling, and was an extreme animal lover, especially of her dogs, Digger and Ozzy. Her family was very important to her.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 1:30 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, corner of Lemon and North Third Streets, Mifflintown, with Pastor Nancy McClure officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown. There will be no viewing at the church on Sunday.
