Bertha R. (Leacy) Colledge

     Bertha R. Colledge, 77, of Port Royal, passed away Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023 at her home, surrounded by her family.

     She was born Dec. 6, 1945 in Lewistown

     She is survived by one daughter, Cindy K. Colledge of Port Royal, three grandchildren, Joseph Holley of Elmira, NY, Rachelle Wayavong of Lewistown, and Christopher Wayavong of Lewistown, one great-grandson, Jorden Adams, two step-children, Michael Colledge of Shermansdale and Malinda Collier of Landisburg, two step-grandchildren, and several step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William E. Colledge on Sept. 6, 2019, her parents, Samuel K. and Alice (Long) Leacy, and four siblings, Melvin Leacy, Wilton Leacy, George Leacy, and Florence Krieder.

     Bertha worked at Empire Kosher for the USDA as a federal food inspector many years before retiring.

     She enjoyed playing Bingo and baking, but the most important thing in her life was her family.

     Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24 at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third Street, Mifflintown, with Pastor Jerry Conley officiating. Interment will be in Locust Run Cemetery.

     Her viewing will be from 1 pm until the time of the services Friday at the funeral home.
