Benjamin L. “Ben” Boone, 83, of Honey Grove, passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born March 23, 1941, in Spruce Hill, he was a son of the late Orville and Blanche (Thatcher) Boone.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Brenda J. (Hockenberry) Boone, whom he married June 28, 1968, two sons, Greg A. Boone and wife, Jenny, and Mike D. Boone and wife, Robin, one brother, Leroy Boone, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one expected soon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Christina L. “Sis” Beasom on Sept. 30, 2021, one brother, Bob Boone and one sister, Mary Lou Brooks.
Ben worked at several jobs but retired as a supervisor from Empire Kosher Poultry and he and his wife owned and operated B and B Masonry.
He was a member of Watts Township Wesleyan Church, was a life-member of Millerstown Moose, and belonged to various other organizations.
He enjoyed hunting, mowing, working on equipment and was a gentleman farmer. But the most important thing in his life was his family and spending time with them.
There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept 16 at New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, with Rev. Dee Lower and Rev. Ed Lower officiating. There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Watts Township Wesleyan Church, 55 Circle Road, Duncannon, PA 17020.
