Barbara Reichenbaugh Guyer, 81, of Thompsontown, passed away on June 26, 2024. She was born on Sept. 21, 1942, in Apollo, PA, to Robert M. and Jean Roxbury Reichenbaugh. She graduated from State College High School and worked as a journalist for the Centre Daily Times, learning photography from Dick Brown.
She moved to Lewistown after marrying her husband, R. Neil Guyer, in 1981. There she opened Marty’s Grooming, a dog grooming shop, which she ran for 30 years. Important to her were her Christian faith, her family, and her deep friendships. In addition to photography, she enjoyed showing her Cocker Spaniels, refinishing antique furniture, and scouting for bargains at thrift stores and yard sales. Her friends describe her as kind, talented, and funny.
She is survived by her beloved husband, R. Neil Guyer, her brother, Barry Reichenbaugh, two children, Karry Carr and David Koon, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, R. Thomas Reichenbaugh.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2024 at Decatur Fire Hall, 4277 US-522, Lewistown, PA 17044
