Barbara A. Fairman, 91, of Mifflintown, peacefully entered into eternal rest surrounded by people who loved her on Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, at her home.
Born Nov. 22, 1930, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Alexander A. Dumm and Clarabelle (Peck) Dumm Heaps. Her husband, Harry B. “Preach” Fairman, whom she married June 10, 1950, passed away May 4, 2008.
She is survived by three daughters, Paula Frymoyer and husband Dwight, Betsy Fairman, and Sandy King and husband, Denny, all of Mifflintown, eight grandchildren, Becca Walters and husband, Rich, Noel Frymoyer and wife, Valarry, Dara Reinford and husband, Chad, Olivia Frymoyer, Sarah Powell and husband, Wolf, Jonathan King, Naomi King, and Anna Sturtevant and husband, Tim, eight great-grandchildren, Noah and Blaine Walters, Aftan and Dex Reinford, Wynter, Skye, and Wylder Powell and Jaylyn King, and two sisters, Marge Kauffman and husband, Jim, and Hannah Bashore and husband, Harry.
Barb was a homemaker and assisted her husband with his business.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Byron King, two brothers, Alexander “Gene” Dumm and Gerald Dumm and one sister, Elizabeth “Tib” Dumm.
She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown.
She enjoyed taking care of her home and she loved her family, especially being with her grandchildren. Whenever she saw a need, she was always willing to help.
Her private funeral will be at the convenience of the family with Vicar Sam Leister officiating. Interment will be in Adams Cemetery, Mifflintown.
The family will provide all flowers and requests that memorial contributions be given to Messiah Lutheran Church, 3 S. Third Street, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
