Anna Jean Dunn Obituary

     Anna Jean (Swartz) Dunn, 91, of Arch Rock, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.

     Born June 16, 1928, in Fayette Township, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Vernal and Esther Emma (Coldren) Swartz. Her husband of 45 years, Richard Paul Dunn, whom she married June 24, 1949, died October 9, 1994.

     She is survived by four children, Deborah K. Bryner, Dowell R. Dunn, Dawn D. Imes and husband, Randy, and Darrin D. Dunn and wife, Angela, all of Mifflintown, one sister, Wyonna Marpoe of Orrstown, six grandchildren, Justin Aumiller and wife, Brooke, Kenneth Aumiller and wife, Wendy, Richard Aumiller, Benjamin Dunn and wife, Gloria, Courtney Dunn and Jason Goss, ten great-grandchildren with one more on the way, nine step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandson.

     She was preceded in death by six siblings, Doris Turbett, Loretta Benner, Dennis Swartz, Cecil Swartz Sr., Ivan Swartz Sr., and Phyllis Hedenberg.

     Jean graduated from Juniata Joint High School and completed her licensed practical nursing degree in Harrisburg. She worked as an LPN at the Harrisburg State Hospital for nine years and as an LPN/charge nurse at Brookline Manor, retiring in 1990.

     She was a member of Arch Rock United Methodist Church and served as a volunteer with Juniata County Meals on Wheels for many years.

     She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes, crocheting, and making quilts. The greatest gift that she shared was her love for her family to whom she most recently became known as “Tic Tac Grammy.”

     Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Gerald Miller officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Mifflintown.

     There will be a viewing on Monday, Feb. 3, from 1 p.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.

     In lieu of flowers, those who desire are asked to make a memorial contribution to the Arch Rock United Methodist Church in care of Marty Ritter, PO Box 64, Mifflin, PA 17058.
