Anna Mary Peachey, 79, triumphantly passed from this life to her heavenly home on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at Chapel Pointe, Carlisle.
Born Nov. 19, 1944 in McAlisterville, she was a daughter of the late Merle and Mary (Kanagy) Peachey.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Zimmerman, brothers, Gary (Lois) and John (Deb) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Helen Ann Peachey and her brother-in-law, Allen Zimmerman.
Anna served at Fellowship Chapel, a Brethren in Christ inner-city ministry in Bronx, NY for 21 years where she had a tremendous impact on the lives of many people. While there, she was employed as Vice President for Human Resources at St. Barnabas Hospital. After returning to PA in 1993, she was appointed VP for Human Resources at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill where she served for five years until accepting the position of Church Administrator at Christ Community Church, serving faithfully for ten years until her retirement in 2008. After retirement, she served in various capacities at Harrisburg Brethren in Christ Church until moving to Chapel Pointe Retirement Community in Carlisle in 2022.
There will be a visitation for family and friends on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church Life Center, 287 Deerville Road, Mifflintown, beginning at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 10:30 a.m. The service will also be livestreamed on the Cedar Grove BIC YouTube page.
Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anna’s memory to Chapel Pointe Benevolent Fund, 770 S. Hanover St, Carlisle, PA 17013 or to Homeland Hospice, 2300 Vartan Way, Harrisburg, PA 17110. The family would like to extend a special thanks to both organizations for the loving care they provided.
