Alonza "Lonz" L. Laird

     Alonza L. “Lonz” Laird, 67, of Port Royal, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital after a brief illness.

     Born May 6, 1953, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late John and Carol (Reedy) Laird.

     He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Debra (Poche) Laird, whom he married Nov. 17, 1972, one son, Robert Laird and companion, Terre, of McCoysville, one daughter, Amy Marshall and husband, Rusty, of Mifflin, two grandsons, Aaron Marshall and wife, Katie, of Mifflintown, and Zachary Marshall of Mifflin, one brother, John Laird and companion, Sue Prye, of Mexico, and one sister, Ruth Hockenberry and husband, Gary, of Thompsontown.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert Laird, James Laird, William Laird, and Jacob “Jake” Laird and two sisters, Helen Boone and Donna Lewis.

     He graduated from Juniata High School in 1972 and worked for Lear, Stella Jones, and, most recently, Dumor Inc.

     He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, being with his cat and especially spending time with his grandsons.

     His service will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
