Alfred A. “Al” McClure, 89, of Mifflintown, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at his home.
He was born May 19, 1931, in Turtle Creek, Allegheny County.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Alice N. (Nace) McClure, whom he married Jan. 27, 1951, three children, Kay Eyler and husband, Ken, Richard A. “Rick” McClure, and Deborah Pecht and companion, Joe Hoke, all of Mifflintown, one brother, George McClure, one step-brother, James Sieber, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Mary J. (Simonton) McClure, his step-mother, Mary Louise (Speer) Sieber McClure, one granddaughter, Allison Garver, one daughter-in-law Susan McClure, one brother, Frank McClure, and one step-brother, Graeme Sieber.
Al and his wife owned and operated McClure’s Fruit Farm, outside of Mifflintown, for 28 years.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown.
Al and Alice enjoyed wintering in Hobe Sound, Fla., from 1983 until 2015.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
