    Harold J. Rowles, 71, of 6713 Rte. 333, Mifflintown, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, at 11:45 a.m. in the Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital, Lewistown.

     He was born Dec. 30, 1946 to the late Calvin Robert Rowles and Beulah Sylvania Emery Rowles in the Lewistown Hospital, Lewistown. Harold is survived by his wife, Sandra Haubert Rowles, whom he married on Sept. 10, 1978.

     In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Christopher C. Boyer, of Mifflintown, a grandson, Cael C. Boyer, of Virginia, and three sisters, Freda Bargo of Mifflintown, Yvonne Murphy of Mifflin, and Mary Jane Dunn of Port Royal. Harold was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Wileman and Darlene Leach, and three brothers, Robert M. Rowles, Max R. Rowles, and William Rowles.

     Harold attended Tuscarora Valley High School, Port Royal, and worked throughout his life in road construction and on pipeline work. He was a member of Laborers' Local #158 and of the Pennsylvania Heavy and Highway Contractors' Association. He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Mifflintown

     He enjoyed NASCAR and watching professional wrestling on television.

     There will be a funeral service on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Judy Rowles officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Mifflintown.

     There will be a viewing from noon until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
