    James L."Jim" Crawford, 80, of Mifflin, formerly of Ickesburg, died Monday, May 28, 2018, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College.

     Born May 6, 1938, in New Bloomfield, he was a son of the late Luther A. and Alice (Sweger) Crawford.

     He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Jean (Jones) Crawford, whom he married Sept. 8, 1959; four sons, James R. Crawford of Thompsontown, Gary L. Crawford of Mifflintown, Randy E. Crawford and wife, Helen, of Ickesburg, and Mark L. Crawford and wife, Michele, of Elliottsburg; two sisters, Yvonne Trout of New Bloomfield and Sylvia Kerstetter of York; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Robert E. Crawford, Luther Crawford Jr. and Larue Schlusser.

      Jim was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

       He retired as a supervisor at Crestline Plastic Pipe Co., Mechanicsburg, where he worked from 1973 to 2000. He had previously worked at Kinney Shoe.

     He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tinkering in his garage on many projects. He was a carpenter, a woodworker, and he loved to help other people.

     It was Jim's wish to be cremated. His memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 31, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald Shupe officiating. There will be no viewing. Full military honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans' Council.

     In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make a memorial contribution to First Baptist Church, 23964 Rt. 35, Mifflintown, PA 17059.

     Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, has care of the arrangements.

To the Family,

We are so very sorry to hear of Jim's passing.

Growing up I fondly remember Jim always having a smile and friendly "hello" anytime I saw him.
