     Harvey R. Diven, 77, formerly of Anderson and Fountain Inn, S.C., and Middletown and Honey Grove, Pa., died on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at his home in East Waterford.

     Born Jan, 1, 1941, in Honey Grove, he was a son of the late Russell P. and Ida Belle (Holley) Diven.

     His wife of 50 years, Sandra “Sandy” K. (Tyson) Diven, whom he married on Oct. 12, 1962, died on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012

     He is survived by one daughter, Mindy Diven Keating and husband, Edward, of Bryans Road, Md., one son, Harvey R. Diven, Jr. and wife, Keri, of Franklin, Ky., eight grandchildren, Samantha Keating Schrauder and husband, Austin, Joshua Keating, Nicole Diven Lewis and husband, Matthew, Jesse Diven, Eliza Diven Schadel and husband, Adam, Cliff Stiffey, Jade Miller Forbis and husband, Brandon, and Meah Rigg, 11 great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jackson Keating, Austin and Brady Schrauder, Gabriel and Mikayla Lewis, Aiden Radican, Faith, Christian, and Kevin Stiffey, and Jason Forbis, and seven siblings, Grace McGowan, Ray Diven and wife, Eleanor, Agnes Catherine Swisher and husband, Larry, Helen McNaughton and husband, Charles, Harry Diven, Linda Hosler, and Shirley Hostler and husband, Dave.

     A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served from May 25, 1958, until April 25, 1961 with the 101st Airborne Division.

     He was a retired Roadway truck driver and belonged to the Moose, the Jaycees, and 101st Airborne Division Association.

     He enjoyed hunting, camping, boating and watching NASCAR. His family was very important to him, and he especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His dog, Chief, was always at his side.

     His funeral will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Casey Hostler, officiating. There will be a viewing from 6 p.m. until the time of the services Friday at the funeral home.

     Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, January 29 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, where full military honors will be accorded.

Harvey will be missed a lot we always had fun traveling with your mom and dad.and spending time at there home in South Carolina too.we had a lot of good times from the beginning of our life to the very end.we loved them both from the beginning till the end of theres .he was the best brother in law any one could ever ask for. and sandy the best sister any one could want were are sorry for your loss.
