     Virginia M. "Ginny" Hampton, 81, of Mifflintown, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.

     Born October 25, 1935 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Nellie (Hess) Huff, but was raised by Pete and Alice Sausman of Thompsontown.

     She is survived by her husband, Don Kauffman; a daughter, Donna Boyden and husband, Andy; a son David C. Hampton Jr. and fiancé, Patti Scott, all of Mifflintown; stepchildren, Deb Kirk of Mifflin and Randy Kauffman of Mifflintown; grandchildren, David C. Hampton III and Dana Lynn Hampton; step-grandchildren, Tammy Swartz and Randy Ronald Kauffman; eight step great-grandchildren; two sisters; Patricia Aitkins of McClure and Rose "Sue" Lambert of Runville, and a brother, Roy Mateer of Milroy.

     Her first husband David Clair Hampton, Sr. preceded her in death on July 6, 2004. Also preceding her in death were three brothers: Charles Huff, Russell Huff, and Richard Huff and four sisters; Thelma Heyne, Frances Blose, Mary Galbreath, and  Dorothy Wolfkiel.

     Virginia was a 1953 graduate of Thompsontown High School and worked at Juniata Garment, Mifflin until her retirement in 2003.

     Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Peg Rowe officiating. Interment will be in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.

     There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14, at the funeral home.

     Donations in her memory may be made to Mexico Full Gospel Church, 464 Gill Road, Mifflintown, Pa 17059.
