     Ronald L. Summers, Sr., 80, of Mifflin died Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Bridges at Brookline.

     Born Oct. 28, 1936 in Burnham, he was a son of the late Emory and Emily (Lloyd) Somers.

     He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Keiser) Summers, whom he married April 27, 1963, one son, Ronald L. Summers, Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Mifflintown; one step-daughter, Luann R. Shoop and husband, Robert, of Lewistown; his twin brother, Donald L. Summers and wife, Reinhilde, of New Jersey, one sister, Faye Kauffman of McVeytown, two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Evan Somers and Emory "Jack" Somers, and one sister, Shirley Arnold.

     He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

     Ron was a truck driver, as well as working in many other jobs.

     He was a member of the Brooklyn, City and Fame Fire Companies, of the MIfflintown American Legion, and the Lewistown VFW.

     He enjoyed watching old time Westerns on TV and reading.

     His memorial service will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to VFW Post 7011, 12 Chestnut St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
