     Ethel M. Bossinger, 107, formerly of Lewistown, Mifflin, and Mifflintown, died Monday, July 25, 2016, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.

     She was born Feb. 23, 1909, in Hammer Hollow, Licking Creek Valley, Juniata Co.

     She is survived by her daughter, Mary E. Ernest and husband, Max, of Mifflintown; one granddaughter, Eleanor Ernest and husband, Angie Smith, of Owego, NY,

and three great-grandsons.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie A. Bossinger, her parents, James Henry and Sarah S. (Yocum) Farleman, three brothers, Charlie, Frank, and Addison Farleman, and two grandsons, Max Ernest and Mark Ernest.

     Ethel was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown for 77 years. She designed and sewed the original church choir gowns, made 15 of the first chrismons for the church Christmas tree, and was very supportive of The Needlers, a quilting outreach program at the church. She was a very particular and exact person.

     Her funeral will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Interment will be in St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley. There will be no viewing.

      The family will provide all funeral flowers. For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to The Needlers of Messiah Lutheran Church, 3 S. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.

     The family would like to thank the Locust Grove staff for the kind and compassionate care Ethel received while she was a resident.
