     Evelyn B. Davis, 84, of Thompsontown went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

     Born May 24, 1931, in Fayette Township, Juniata Co., she was a daughter of the late Samuel M. and Mary (Adams) Benner. Her husband, J. Franklin "Frank" Davis, whom she married June 14, 1951, died on June 27, 1978.

     She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Lois and Gary Hoffman of Loganton, Linda and Dave Myers of Millerstown, Lori and Roger Walter of McAlisterville, Lana Dreese of Richfield, Lane Davis of McAlisterville, Leslie and Ken Laudenslager of Middleburg, and Leon and Angela Davis of Thompsontown; one brother, Wilbur Benner and wife, Jane, of Chambersburg, 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Fogleman, Luella Phillips, and Reba Holley and three brothers, Miles Benner, Melvin Benner, and Samuel Benner.

     Evelyn retired from the PA State Hospital, Harrisburg.

     She was a member of Free Spring Church of the Brethren.

     She enjoyed reading and word finds, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

     Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, at Free Spring Church of the Brethren with Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Interment will be in Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown.

     Although there will be no viewing, her family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:30 until the time of the services at the church.
