     Solomon X. David, 31, of Steelton, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015, at his home.

     He was born May 18, 1984 in Launce, Michigan.

     He is survived by his mother, Mary (Bruce) Mertz; two brothers, Abraham David and Michael Mertz , his girlfriend, Jocelyn "Josie" Lopez, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

     He was preceded in death by his brother, William "Willie" David on Sept. 25, 2003, his father, Joseph David, and his grandparents, Robert and Helen Bruce and William and Alma David.

     Solomon attended Juniata High School and served his country in the National Guard.

     He worked for Arcelor Mittal Steel Mill, Steelton.

     He enjoyed lifting weights, body building, rock climbing, and any physical sport. He liked to listen to music and watch movies, especially comedies. In his youth, he and "the cousins" spent countless days with their maternal grandparents in Walnut.

     His funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 15275 Rt 35 South, Mifflin, PA  17058, with the Rev. Mark Brower officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

     There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., Mifflintown. There will not be a viewing at the church.

     For those who desire, contributions in memory of Solomon may be made to the Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.

We spoke, but I wanted to post. This is a devastating loss and we are all behind you you 100%. My support doesn't stop the day after the funeral, you know that I am always, always here, just as you have been for me. Friends for life, you and I Mary. I am so so sorry this happened.
