Elsie Mae (Schlegel) Tabb, 90,  of Mifflintown went into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.

     Born March 27, 1925 at her family home in Mifflintown, Juniata Co., she was the daughter of the late Ross and Ellen Grace (Bell) Schlegel. Her husband, James William Tabb, Sr., proceeded her in death on May 24, 1992.

     She is survived by a son, James William Tabb, Jr. and wife Debbie, of Thompsontown, three daughters, Ethel Miller and husband Ray of Mifflintown, Sharon Clark and husband John of Newville, and Patricia Tabb, of Mifflintown,  nine grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

     In addition to her husband, she was proceeded in death by a daughter, Pamela Sue Tabb.

     She was retired from the Juniata County School District, where she worked as a cook at Walker Elementary School.

     She was a member of the Mifflin Chapter of Eastern Star and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where she was  a member and former teacher of the Fidelity Sunday School Class and a long-time member of the church's Kitchen Committee.

     There will be a memorial service, including a tribute by her chapter of Eastern Star, on Sunday, June 14, at 7:00 p.m. at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown.      

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 109 N. Third Street, Mifflintown, or to the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third Street, Mifflintown, to help with the funeral expenses.
