     Deborah E. Bender, 59, of Mifflin, died Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Lewistown Hospital.

     Born June 1, 1955 in Lewistown, she is a daughter of Janet  (McCulloch) Symmerman of Thompsontown and the late James "Jim" Symmerman.

     In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 27 years, Harmon J. "Hump" Bender, Sr., whom she married Aug. 22, 1987; three sons, Harmon J. Bender, Jr. of Tampa, Fla., Brian K. Bender of Mifflintown, and Michael B. Bender and wife, Brandy, of Mifflin; sisters and brother, Brenda Rager of Thompsontown, James Symmerman, Jr. and wife, Christine, of Thompsontown, and Julie Symmerman of McAlisterville; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

     Deb graduated from East Juniata High School and worked at Lyon Fashions and at Walmart.

     She was a member of Rock Assembly of God Church.

     Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Rock Full Gospel Assembly of God, 5082 McCoysville, Road, Mifflin, PA 17058, with Pastor Jack Weaver officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

     The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday at the church.

     Contributions may be made to Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, 17059, who has care of the arrangements.
