     James P. "Jim" Sterrett, 94, of Mifflintown, formerly of Springfield, Vermont and Telford, Pa., died Monday, January 12, 2015, at Brookline Manor.

     Born June 30, 1920 in Mifflintown, he was the only child of the late James T. and Alma (Robison) Sterrett, and the step-son of the late Elizabeth (Schweyer) Sterrett.

     He is survived by his wife, Beverley (Havener) Sterrett, whom he married June 6, 1948; two sons, James P. Sterrett, Jr. and wife, Barbara B., of Voorhees, NJ and David H. Sterrett and wife, Debra L., of Perkiomenville; and four granddaughters, Dr. Kristin Sterrett, Jessica Sterrett, Emily Hepburn and husband, Matthew, and Jennifer Saari.

     He attended Gettysburg College and graduated from Babson College.

     Jim was a U.S. veteran, serving as a Master Sergeant in Air Force intelligence in the Philippines during WW II.

     He was the materials manager for Fellows Gear Shaper in Springfield, Vermont, and for Leeds and Northrop Co., North Wales, Pa.

     He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Mifflintown Rotary Club and a former member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Harleysville.

     He enjoyed golf, photography, computers and cooking.

     His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Mifflintown with Rev. Martha Carlson officiating.  Interment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.

     There will be a viewing one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church.
