Wilma J. Yocum, 91, formerly of Arch Rock, died Monday, November 24, 2014, at Brookline Manor Nursing Home, Mifflintown.

    Born April 14, 1923 in Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late David Walter and Lillian (Kauffman) Hostler.  Her husband, George William Yocum, whom she married in 1944, died on June 20, 2000.

    She is survived by one son, Rev. George "Cliff" Yocum and wife, Barbara, of Burnham; two grandchildren, Christopher A. Yocum and Holly Dee Pugh; three sisters, Charlotte Foster of Mexico, Joyce Hack and husband, Bob, of Mifflintown, and Betty Brackbill of Mifflintown; two brothers, Robert Hostler and wife, Betty, of Mifflintown, and Russell Hosler of Port Royal; and five great-grandchildren.

    She was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia Hosler, two brothers, Homer Hosler and Bernard "Jack" Hostler, and one great-grandson, Samuel A. Yocum.

    Wilma worked at several dress factories and retired from Empire Kosher.

    She was a member of Arch Rock United Methodist Church.

    She enjoyed putting puzzles together and, when she was younger, hunting.

    Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third Street, Mifflintown, with Pastor Gerald Miller officiating.  Interment will be in Adams Cemetery, Mifflintown.

    The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Cliff, Barb and family, I'm sorry for your loss. Wilma was a great lady. I remember singing with her in the church choir, your dad, too. Remember the good times you had with her.
