KARL E. GUSS
Karl E. Guss, known as “Eddie,” was the director and owner of Guss Funeral Home. After graduating from Juniata Joint High School and attending Susquehanna University, he obtained his diploma from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and served in the United States Army. When his father died in 1956, he took over the family business and continued to operate it with his wife, the former Margaret Fenstermacher, until his death on April 12, 2014.

BARBARA GUSS PARTNER
Keeping with the family tradition, Eddie’s oldest daughter, Barbara, graduated from Juniata High School, earned a Bachelor's Degree in Administration from Elizabethtown College, her diploma in mortuary science from Simmons School of Mortuary Science in Syracuse, NY, and received her funeral director’s license. In 1982, she officially joined the staff of Guss Funeral Home. In 1984, she married Scott Partner. Barbara, Scott, and their children, Bryan and Rachel, continue to be involved in the business today.
